As first day of school is right around the corner, I thought this would be the perfect time to share some tips on how to balance your school life with exercise. I know how easy it is to put your physical health (and mental health) to the back burner as our schedules get busier and busier throughout the year. So, here are some ways to manage both exercise and school:
STOP MAKING EXCUSES
It’s as simple as that. You can always make room for a 30 minute workout, but the problem is that we make 101 excuses in our head to get out of working out. So stop making excuses and GET IT DONE. Trust me you will feel 10000x better once you get it done.
FIND A ROUTINE
I like to spend the first few weeks of school (when it’s not as busy) to get myself into a routine. That way, even when the school year gets busy your body is already accustomed to working out at a specific time that it will come more natural to you.
BE FLEXIBLE
School and life are unpredictable and there will be days or weeks where you are busier than expected and it will limit you from doing a workout that you have planned. Remember that it is okay and to not beat yourself up for a small slip in your schedule. You don’t need to add unnecessary stress.
MAKE A WORKOUT PROGRAM
This has helped me a lot to stay accountable and motivated even during busy times because the last thing I want to do when I’m busy is spend more time planning my workout for the day. But when I have a workout program, the hard part is taken care of and all I have to do is just get myself to the gym.
Hope these tips were helpful
