The saying “abs are made in the kitchen” is not a lie. If you are working out your abs regularly but not seeing any results it is probably and most likely due to your diet. As we all should know by now targeted fat loss is not a thing and doing ab workouts every days does not mean you are going to lose the fat in the stomach. What it means is that you are training those abdominal muscles and getting them stronger. But in order to see them peeking, it is really up to your overall body fat % and diet.
First and most simply it may just be because you have a high body fat % and it is covering your abdominal wall, for some of us we tend to gain body fat in our stomach while others it may be in their thighs or legs – it’s genetics. Therefore, if you want visible abs, you need to focus on lowering your overall body fat % through cardio, HIIT, strength training and proper nutrition and diet.
Eating a proper diet is probably in my opinion the number #1 way to get visible abs, given you are training them consistently. Eating at caloric deficit or eating whole, unprocessed healthy food is the best way to lowering your body fat % and getting those abs to show. Also, ensuring proper hydration is key in digestion and flushing out toxins that may lead to bloating and indigestion.
TLDR; Double check your diet cause it’s probably the reason why you aren’t seeing results.
Good luck 💓
